I Just Want to Be Cool

With an honest heart this little one told his mama, "I just want to be cool."

Oh that the children of this generation would know how cool they are in our Father's eyes.

In Pilgrim  Ruth Chou Simons gets real and writes:

"What keeps a generation chasing on social media, a destination that doesn't truly exist? I think it's the same things that every generation longs for..
The desire to matter.
The longing to be loved and noticed.
The need for community.
The fear they will be forgotten."

Listen to the powerful truth Simons wrote about related to Paul's spiritual journey
"Paul didn't share these things with the church at Philippi lightly. He had once known prestige, honor, and accolades of the religious and pious Jews.  He had ben the best of the best.  He had known comfort, luxury, and acceptance. Now, as a transformed and humble man-serving Christ alone-Paul was hated, imprisoned, beaten and misunderstood. He was abandoned by trusted friends and often alone. For him to count all else loss compared to the surpassing worth of knowing Christ was a testimony to the greatness of Christ and the gift of redemption through the cross.

The grace and rescue of God won't be satisfying to a person who doesn't realize how hungry he truly is.  We won't recognize it at first, buy it is a mercy when what we are chasing no longer satisfies."

Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith— that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death,      Philippians 3:8-10

How old in our faith do we have to be to get to this point?  I think it is less about longevity and more about the time we take to really get to know Jesus.

Who needs noticing by you today?  Who needs to know how much God loves them?
