Proverbs 27

 

Cousins make good friends! There seems to be a little less rivalry than with siblings, yet a deep sense of belonging and honesty.  Not living under the same roof year round probably assists to strengthen the camaraderie.

"...the sweetness of a friend comes from his earnest counsel." Proverbs 27:9b

"Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another."         Proverbs 27:17

Entering the last stretch of this study in Proverbs it was a feel good moment to stop and reflect on friendships over the years which have been both encouraging and excellent accountability tools.  Many of those women do not live close by, but phone calls, texting, forwarding, and Face Timing all aid in overcoming the distance.   The community of friendship found in the local church is such a blessing.

Who would consider you a friend who sticks closer than a brother?

A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.    Proverbs 18:24
