He satisfies the longing soul.

This first grader is always up to something...
I turned around this day and he was up a tree and up balancing on our bannister.
I suggested he get down, because we might not be able to go into the ER with him.

Monday, She Reads Truth began a three week study on The Promises of God.

This paragraph in yesterday's lesson, related to the promise of us longing for and receiving an everlasting kingdom, is beautiful.
"Jesus is the King who sits on David’s throne, but more than that, He sits at the right hand of the Father. And His kingdom is not limited to the land of Israel; it spreads across the whole earth as the gospel is preached and received, until one day when it will be said, “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ” (Revelation 11:15).  Those of us who know Jesus as Lord also know the kingdom as the home we long for. In Christ, we are now its citizens (Philippians 3:20), and when He returns, we will reign with Him (2Timothy 2:12). Until that day comes, we join with David and every other faithful soul throughout history who has ached with longing for the promised kingdom."

Think of all the things we are longing for right now…churches, hospitals, nursing homes, offices, schools, airplane travel, vacations destinations, salons, shops, restaurants, fitness centers, and sporting events to be open. Oh, to simply be able to gather together somewhere and hug.  Yesterday while meeting someone to pick  up something at our church a young teenage girl wo hugs me every Sunday morning came running to me for a hug and it broke my heart to say, "We aren't supposed to do that." She looked at me with eyes of rejection.

As we think of all these situations we are facing, there is no comparison with these earthly longing to our spiritual longing to be with Jesus forever! Remembering how temporal this world is and all that God all  has planned for us is reason to rejoice!  Hallelujah. Come Lord Jesus.
Love,  Boo
