Perseverance & its Blessed Companion Hope

March 4

Whew, I don't know about you, but the reality of where we are
headed as a nation has me heart broken. What we have voted into
place as a nation has me feeling like there is no turning back
and no hope. Well, lawsie mercy, that can't be from Jesus!
I am doing a journaling study that is based on Jesus' beloved John
by Beth Moore. Today she took me to Patmos where the aged John had
been exiled and it was not a vacation island spot. The Roman
emperor was ticked off at John because of his faith.

Check out Rev. 1:9
John, your brother and partner in the tribulation, kingdom, and
perseverance in Jesus, was on the island called Patmos because of
God's word and the testimony about Jesus.

Fact: It is becoming less and less popular to be a Christian.

When we face trials of many kinds (and God's word tells us we will)
we are to persevere and be blessed by the side kick of perseverance...
her name is Hope and she is such an encourager!

John didn't throw himself into the ocean and drown. He didn't give
up on the Lord...quite the opposite. He received an amazing
REVELATION from Jesus and made the most of his old age and
desolation.

Let's Pray: Lord, you are our refuge and our strength and an ever
present help in times of trouble. We will not be afraid, but instead
we will seek Your face believing in Your presence and Your transforming
power. Bring revival to our nation. Remind us to persevere in hope as many
who have gone before us have done. Equip us to be workers who are
willing to labor for You in love or quickly change the hardened hearts
of many You love and come and bring us to Your kingdom! In Jesus' Name,
Amen
